Teacher Portfolio: Activity One-Managing Education Information

Question:How have you been organizing information so far as a student and a new teacher candidate?

• I have been organizing information on jump drives, emails, physical binders , and folders.

Question: How do you plan to organize teaching and educational information in the future.

• I plan to organize teaching and educational information in the future by utilizing bookmarking sites such as Delicious and websites such as LiveBinders.

Question:  What role do you envision for technology-based information management tools in your information management system as a teacher?

• This Web-based technology provides teachers and/or students with the necessary tool of compiling information at your finger tips.  Instead of having information in a notebook, filing cabinet, or a notebook with various resources, teachers can have immediate access whenever they get onto a computer with Internet access.  This eliminates the need to carry around jump drives and discs as well.  The academic content knowledge and NETS for Students standards that are being addressed when teachers and students use this tool is NETS-S Standard number three.  This standard requires students to research and information fluency.
